Bring the Show to Life! Step into the action as a Community Arts Sound and Light Technician, where no two days are the same! From powering up the lights and sound for live concerts and movies to helping transform venues for festivals, community celebrations, and special events, you’ll be behind the scenes making unforgettable experiences happen. You’ll work with performers, production crews, event organizers, and the public to bring productions from concept to curtain call. You’ll program and operate lighting and sound systems, troubleshoot technical challenges, coordinate event setups, and make sure every stage, screen, speaker, and spotlight is ready for showtime. This position puts you at the heart of some of the community’s biggest and most exciting events—from concerts and outdoor movies to arts festivals, community celebrations, and city-sponsored special events. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of performances and productions while using your creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities to keep events running smoothly. Under the supervision or direction of the Technical Theater Coordinator, provides lighting design, sound system coordination, and event set-up for operations and activities of the Electric Theater Center, Community Arts Division and other City-related special events and programs; and performs related duties as required.
