Sorter Operator
About The Position
The Sorter Operator (SRD) is responsible for operating and maintaining color sorting equipment and bin gates in the Parboil Mill. This role involves monitoring machinery and dust systems, performing preventative maintenance and repairs, and ensuring food and plant safety. The position requires the ability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, and may involve climbing, working at heights, and riding a man-lift. Requirements
- Must be able to climb, work at heights, ride a "man-lift" and to follow both written and verbal instructions.
Nice To Haves
- One year certificate from college or technical school
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform all required preventative maintenance.
- Perform repairs on the machinery in the shipping department.
- Monitor the machinery and dust systems.
- Operate and maintain color sorting equipment and bin gates.
- Check samples of rice.
- Record all required information on documentation sheets.
- Perform required sanitation and cleaning tasks.
- Responsible for food safety by following HACCP and Food Safety policies/procedures.
- Responsible for plant safety by observing persons entering your work area, asking if you can assist them, and reporting unauthorized persons to your supervisor.
- Attend training as required or approved by supervisor.
