As a SOO / Desk Officer, a typical day will include the following duties: The SOO / Desk Officer must effectively maintain formal communications and provide highlights, as appropriate; draft/coordinate responses and approvals for technical operations; and maintain knowledge of multiple customer systems. Additionally, they will identify solutions to complex operational problems and utilize tools and capabilities to advance operations. They will also develop and maintain a broad network of contacts across the US Government to satisfy operational requirements; coordinate legal and policy issues affecting operations; and monitor field cable/email traffic. Additionally, the candidate provides integrated logistics support services responsible for ensuring the program’s requisite products are ordered, received, packed, and shipped in a timely manner. A successful logistician must have outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills; be at ease working in a fast-paced environment; and have the ability to adapt to customer-driven requirements. This person should have strong problem-solving skills and be self-motivated. A successful candidate must be detail oriented and promptly respond to requests, as this position is part of a large program in fast paced environment. The officer will work both independently with minimal supervision, as well as with a team of technical travelers. Candidates must effectively interact with customer personnel at all levels within the customer organization.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI with Poly Required
  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of operational tools and methodologies used in the IC

Responsibilities

  • Supporting HUMINT and/or technical collection intelligence operations
  • Initiate, record, and preserve work order documentation for the acquisition of component items from vendors.
  • Monitor field cable/email traffic as it relates to the approval and shipment of technical equipment to the field.
  • Maintain formal communications and provide highlights, as appropriate.
  • Draft/coordinate responses and approvals for technical operations.
  • Maintain knowledge of multiple customer systems.
