About The Position

Join an energetic, patient-focused team! BJC Outpatient Imaging is currently seeking an experienced Sonographer for a Full-Time position at our outpatient imaging center in Clarkson (Chesterfield, MO). As a Sonographer, you will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in a collaborative outpatient setting while providing exceptional patient care. Working under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, you will utilize advanced ultrasound technology to produce accurate diagnostic images, ensure patient safety and comfort, and work closely with physicians and the imaging team to deliver outstanding clinical care. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, patient-centered team dedicated to providing high-quality outpatient imaging services while enjoying a consistent Monday–Friday schedule with no evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Requirements

  • Up to 5 years experience as a licensed Sonographer.
  • Must be a graduate of an approved program of diagnostic sonography.
  • Must be RVT certified.
  • Must be registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) or ARRT (S).
  • For IDTF centers, OB, Abdominal, or General certification is required upon hire, and RVT certification is required within one year of hire.
  • Non-IDTF centers require RVT certification along with OB, Abdominal or General within one year of hire, where applicable.
  • Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice.
  • Skill in operation of Sonography equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask.
  • Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
  • Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations following established imaging protocols.
  • Produce high-quality images for physician interpretation.
  • Review patient history, verify exam orders, and prepare patients for procedures.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and education throughout the imaging process.
  • Assist physicians with ultrasound-guided procedures as needed.
  • Evaluate image quality and maintain accurate patient documentation.
  • Perform quality assurance activities and maintain equipment and exam room readiness.
  • Collaborate with physicians and fellow team members to deliver exceptional outpatient care.
