About The Position

This position is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations in the areas of Breast (BR), Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN), Abdomen (AB), and Vascular ultrasound. The incumbent provides patient care and physician assistance during the performance of those examinations as well as Interventional procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited ultrasound program is required.
  • Level II: must have two (2) years of clinical experience.
  • Level III: must have three (3) years of clinical experience.
  • Level IV: must have five (5) years of clinical experience.
  • Level I: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)(BR, OB or AB), RT(S), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) registry is required.
  • Level II: RVT or RVS registry is required.
  • Level III: RVT or RVS registry and at least one (1) additional American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) credential are required.
  • Level IV: RVT or RVS registry and at least two (2) additional ARDMS credentials are required.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR card is required.
  • All levels are required to meet the corresponding Sonographer level requirements as listed in the departments "DIAGNOSTIC ULTRASONOGRAPHER PROFESSIONAL ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM" Document.

Nice To Haves

  • Recent ultrasound experience in Breast, Abdomen, OB/GYN, and Vascular is preferred.
  • Experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
