About The Position

This Sonographer position is part of the AHMG Vascular Surgery team at Orlando, located at 2415 N. Orange Ave., Suite 302, Orlando, FL 32804. The role operates Monday - Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. A $5k sign-on bonus may be available and could float to practices in Altamonte, Oviedo, Winter Park, and Tavares as needed. The Sonographer is responsible for producing quality diagnostic ultrasound images using proper equipment techniques and technical factors, performing all ultrasound procedures according to department policies, and following hospital safety standards and sterile techniques. The role also involves positioning and transferring patients, maintaining records, assisting physicians with invasive procedures, and ensuring proper lab work and specimen delivery. The Sonographer will incorporate patient and customer needs into their work, maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the Ultrasound Department, secure and restock supplies, attend department meetings, and follow the AIDET communication model and hospital's "Standard of Behavior" guidelines. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree OR Technical/Vocational School is Required
  • 1+ of position-related experience [Required]
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Responsibilities

  • Produces quality diagnostic ultrasound images using proper equipment techniques and technical factors.
  • Performs all ultrasound procedures according to department policies.
  • Follows prescribed hospital safety standards and practices sterile techniques to prevent contamination.
  • Positions and transfers patients for exams.
  • Maintains adequate records per department and hospital policies.
  • Assists physicians in performing invasive procedures, ensuring proper lab work and specimen delivery.
  • Incorporates patient, physician, and customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational actions.
  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the Ultrasound Department and secures and restocks supplies as necessary.
  • Attends a minimum of 50% of scheduled department meetings and obtains information from missed meetings.
  • Follows AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank) at all times.
  • Maintains ethical, professional relationships and follow the “Standard of Behavior” guidelines per hospital policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
