This is a per diem, part-time Sonographer position with Advocate Health. The role involves operating ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and/or cardiac procedures, accurately differentiating between normal and pathological findings. The Sonographer will review patient medical records, obtain clinical information from patients, and ensure exam accuracy by comparing requisitions to physician orders. Responsibilities include positioning patients, selecting appropriate equipment and technical factors, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. The role requires the use of cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures based on diagnostic information and images, as well as accurate labeling of all images. The Sonographer will maintain records, enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, and document billing codes. They will also identify equipment performance issues, communicate them to appropriate staff, and evaluate new products. Analysis of sonograms, synthesis of sonographic information and medical history, and communication of findings to physicians are key duties. The position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
