About The Position

The Ultrasound Technician (Sonographer) is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols and standards. The role includes preparing patients, operating ultrasound equipment, capturing high-quality images, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and experienced in various types of sonographic procedures.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or completion of an accredited ultrasound technician program.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
Proficient in general and/or vascular sonography.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle sensitive patient interactions with compassion.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Fluent in Spanish and English (oral and written).
Proficient in using PACS and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment for procedures.
Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations including abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, and small parts (as applicable).
Explain procedures clearly and compassionately to patients.
Capture, analyze, and document diagnostic images and provide preliminary technical impressions.
Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and the medical team to ensure accurate image interpretation and patient care.
Maintain accurate patient records and complete documentation in the electronic medical record system (EMR).
Ensure compliance with CorePlus protocols, HIPAA regulations, and safety standards.
Perform regular cleaning and basic maintenance of ultrasound equipment.
Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Attend required trainings, certifications, and staff meetings.
