About The Position
Ultrasonographer - PRN Temporary Position (Estimated Need- 6 weeks). This role involves performing diagnostic imaging on various patient populations including outpatient, inpatient, ER, OR, and portable. The sonographer will use independent judgment to evaluate images, interpret exams, and provide preliminary findings to the radiologist. The position also includes performing invasive procedures and taking call on a rotating basis.
Requirements
- Satisfactory completion of an accrediting Diagnostic Sonography Program
- Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- BLS certification
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas
- Strong communication skills
Responsibilities
- Takes initiative to confirm orders are accurate.
- Reviews patient history for necessary information (lab results, surgeries, etc.).
- Performs difficult manipulative skills to obtain diagnostic images on all patients (outpatient, inpatient, ER, OR, and portable).
- Uses independent judgment to evaluate images and related data to interpret exams and provides preliminary findings to the radiologist.
- Performs invasive procedures.
- Takes call on a rotating basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
