About The Position

This is a part-time contract position for a Sonographer specializing in Urology. The role requires availability to work every Wednesday and Friday and involves floating between the Greenpoint Ave and West 13th Street locations. The Sonographer will operate auxiliary equipment, process images, and maintain equipment and required documentation.

Requirements

• Urology experience needed.
• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program, required.
• New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, required.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration, required.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience performing radiologic exams, required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam, relieving anxiety by explaining the procedure in layman's terms and obtaining consent forms if necessary.
• Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures, positioning patients, arranging immobilization devices, and adjusting x-ray equipment.
• Monitors patient's condition during the procedure, recognizing and reporting abnormalities to the Radiologist.
• Keys in patient history data and other pertinent information.
• Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape.
• Processes and maintains exposed images, ensuring proper labeling and identification.
• Maintains required records and utilizes film markers.
• Enters exams onto the daily log sheet and completes tracking steps for each examination.
• Performs related duties as required.
