About The Position

Leads the daily operations of assigned department's imaging services.

Requirements

• Completion of a Sonography program
• Two years' experience
• Constant standing and walking.
• Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
• Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
• Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
• Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
• Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
• Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.
• Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
• Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
• Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
• Rare kneeling and sitting.

• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) OR Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)

Responsibilities

• Ensures quality imaging, patient care and work flow.
• Monitors patient documentation for timely completion and accuracy.
• Oversees quality control testing, equipment maintenance and trouble shooting.
• Serves as a resource to department staff as well as other members of the team as needed.
• Performs staff orientation, training, and coaching.
• Provides input to staff performance evaluations.
• Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
• Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
• Ensures prompt submission of all high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, images correctly labeled and patient data/history).
• Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms and any other areas in department.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
