The Sonographer I position is a part-time role responsible for competently operating ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and/or cardiac procedures. The role involves accurately differentiating between normal and pathologic findings, reviewing patient medical records for clinical information, and ensuring exam accuracy by comparing requisitions to physician orders. The Sonographer will position patients, select appropriate equipment, and adjust technical factors to obtain diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. This position requires the ability to use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures based on anatomical and pathological information. Maintaining accurate records, identifying equipment issues, and communicating findings to physicians are key responsibilities. The role also requires demonstrating knowledge and skills for age-appropriate patient care.
