Provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures to perform Abdomen, OB and Vascular scans. Communicates the results to the diagnosing physician. The role involves greeting and escorting patients, preparing them for procedures, performing clinical assessments and diagnostic sonography examinations, and documenting findings. The Sonographer will use independent judgment to differentiate normal and pathological findings, integrate information, and communicate with physicians. Responsibilities also include maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring accurate documentation, assisting with patient encounter forms, serving as a liaison between patient and physician, and participating in team meetings and workflow improvement discussions. Compliance with government and clinic standards is essential. Support may be provided to clerical and clinical staff, including answering phones, managing messages, completing medical records requests, working the fax server/mail, rooming patients, obtaining vitals, running simple tests, cleaning rooms, ordering requisitions, and scheduling procedures.
