About The Position
This is a per diem opportunity for a Sonographer I - Cardiology in Los Angeles, CA. Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- Graduation from a CAAHEP or other accredited diagnostic ultrasound program required or 5 years of diagnostic ultrasound experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required (BLS expiration date must be valid 60 days from the start date)
Nice To Haves
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Preferred
Responsibilities
- Uses appropriate techniques with ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based upon physician request
- Performs a variety of technical procedures to support physician’s diagnosis
- Responsible for providing high quality imaging
- Appropriately acquire echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician
- Reviews physician order to verify appropriateness for order being performed
- Retrieve studies from PACS for review
- Perform appropriate infection control processes
- Provide an environment of care that supports patient safety
- Addresses patient educational needs as pertains to requested studies
- Prepare patients for the study
- Supports IAC Standards and Guidelines
- Assures accuracy data for clinical reports, demographics and billing information for physician reports
- Support team approach and service focus work with colleagues in a "team approach" to encourage a positive and service-oriented image for the department.
