About The Position

Maxime’s is NYC’s newest private member’s club from entrepreneur Robin Birley, owner of prestigious private member’s clubs 5 Hertford Street and Oswald’s in London. Maxime’s mission is to provide exceptional and discreet service for our members through unparalleled hospitality. Our aim is to make members feel as though they are in a private home, enjoying outstanding food and wine surrounded by stunning decor. Maxime’s is located on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, New York City. We are seeking a talented Sommelier to join our world-class hospitality brigade. Reporting to the Beverage Director, the Sommelier will produce thoughtful and consistent wine offerings for members, accommodating individual tastes and requests while always elevating Maxime’s brand and hospitality standards.

Requirements

Proven success as a Sommelier within fine dining, Michelin-star establishments, or luxury hotel settings
Strong knowledge of wine and wine service as well as culinary concepts and terminology
Polished personal presentation, written and verbal communication skills
Thrives in high-end environments, consistently upholding superior service standards and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience
Capable of operating autonomously with minimal oversight
Maintains a professional, upbeat demeanor and embraces a collaborative, team-oriented approach
TIPS certification required
Ability to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, per the needs of the business
