About The Position

Ten Five Hospitality is launching a new restaurant and lounge concept in Georgetown, seeking experienced professionals to create an elevated dining experience. The Sommelier plays a key role in enhancing the guest experience through expert beverage guidance and attentive, personalized service. This role involves supporting wine sales on the floor, recommending thoughtful pairings, and working closely with the team to uphold high standards for service and beverage execution. The ideal candidate brings strong wine knowledge, professionalism, and a genuine passion for hospitality.

Requirements

  • At least two (2) years previous high-end restaurant or hotel experience.
  • Level 2 Sommelier Certification or higher from an accredited program.
  • Excellent listener and communicator.
  • Ability to focus on guest interaction and multitask.
  • Team player and able to anticipate others’ needs.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engaged in the salesmanship of wine and beverages.
  • Extensive knowledge of wine offerings and the ability to suggest beverage pairings, including collaborating with beverage and culinary teams on wine pairing selections.
  • Maximize wine sales through upselling opportunities and through continuous support of staff education.
  • Accurately enter beverage orders into the POS and ensure timely, efficient service.
  • Collaborate with the beverage and culinary teams to support pairing selections and program development.
  • Support ongoing staff education to increase wine knowledge and sales performance.
  • Provide warm, professional guest interactions, guiding selections based on preferences and dining choices.
  • Properly present and serve wine, including correct glassware, tableside marking, and appropriate service techniques.
  • Ensure wines are stored, handled, and served at proper temperatures and standards, including decanting when appropriate.
  • Taste and quality-check wines prior to service and maintain proper pour levels and glass maintenance throughout the meal.
  • Assist with beverage running and support overall floor service as needed.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy, including bi-weekly counts and weekly ordering with management approval.
  • Uphold all wine program standards and maintain an organized, well-maintained cellar and service area.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
