About The Position

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort is seeking a Sommelier who shares a passion for excellence and infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. This role requires motivated individuals who can be trained to perform superbly, within an environment designed for flourishing. The Sommelier will possess working knowledge of the resort's wine list, including extensive details about each wine, its background, taste profile, and regional history. They will also be equipped to recommend wine pairings for all dishes served at the resort. A successful candidate will have extensive customer service experience, previous experience as a Sommelier in a luxury, fine dining establishment, an outgoing personality, and a can-do approach to any request.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years bartending or related work.
  • Ability to pour, mix, and blend a wide variety, of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks.
  • Excellent knowledge of wines, spirits and cocktails.
  • Must be fluent in English and possess legal work authorization in the United States.
  • Previous experience as a Sommelier in a luxury, fine dining location.
  • Extensive customer service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert knowledge of wine and spirits and ensure quality of all food or beverage items, ingredients, and preparation methods, in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive experience while following and maintaining all local, state, and federal laws relating to alcohol service and consumption.
  • Equipped to make recommendations for wine pairings with all dishes served within the resort.
  • Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment on a daily basis in the outlet and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.
  • Ensure all menus in the Restaurant are clean and updated.
  • Assist team and DH to assist team in achieving department goals.
  • Assist with set-up and cleaning of operational areas.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by Outlet Manager.
  • Maintain accurate wine inventory records and ensure timely updates to inventory management systems.
  • Follow established protocols for wine requisitioning, including proper documentation and approval processes.
  • Ensure optimal storage conditions for wine inventory, including temperature and humidity control.
  • Conduct regular audits of wine inventory to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and manage wine cellar organization to facilitate efficient access and inventory tracking.
