About The Position

As a Solutions Engineer at CYPHER Learning, you will serve as the connective layer between product strategy and engineering execution, ensuring that what we build is clearly defined, prioritized, and aligned to business impact. You will own the “what” and “why” by translating product vision and stakeholder needs into well-structured, actionable requirements that drive efficient and predictable delivery. You will partner closely with engineering, design, and business stakeholders to refine and prioritize work, balancing new feature development with technical debt. This role requires strong technical acumen and judgment, enabling you to challenge assumptions, anticipate dependencies, and ensure solutions are both practical and forward-looking. While your primary focus is on defining outcomes and enabling execution, you will also support delivery execution by facilitating key agile workflows and helping remove blockers, ensuring teams operate with clarity, accountability, and sustained momentum. This includes applying agile practices in a pragmatic way that prioritizes outcomes over ceremony. Your ability to write precise acceptance criteria and manage competing priorities will directly impact the speed, quality, and reliability of our product delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience — required.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role within a B2B SaaS environment, such as Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Technical Consultant.
  • Strong experience supporting enterprise customers through technical evaluations, integrations, implementation discussions, and solution design.
  • Hands-on experience with SSO technologies and identity frameworks, including SAML, OAuth 2.0, Azure Entra ID, Okta, and Google Workspace integrations.
  • Working knowledge of LTI (1.1, 1.3, Advantage), SCORM, xAPI, cmi5, or other interoperability standards within learning or enterprise platforms.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and system integrations, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and navigate sample code in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience supporting technical RFPs, security reviews, and customer discussions related to APIs, integrations, and enterprise architecture.
  • Familiarity with generative AI, LLM workflows, prompting, or AI-enabled product experiences within a SaaS or enterprise technology environment.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including VP and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple technical workstreams and navigate ambiguity in a fast-moving environment.
  • Confident presenter and communicator who can lead customer-facing technical discussions, product demonstrations, and solution walkthroughs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead for mid-market and enterprise evaluations, driving solution alignment and successful technical outcomes throughout the sales process.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer workflows, business requirements, integration needs, and operational constraints.
  • Advise customers on LTI (1.3/Advantage), SSO (SAML/OAuth/Azure Entra ID), APIs, and third-party integrations within complex enterprise environments.
  • Partner directly with IT, security, and operational stakeholders to design scalable solutions aligned to customer goals and technical requirements.
  • Troubleshoot technical blockers across evaluation and implementation phases, coordinating closely with Product and Engineering to drive resolution.
  • Guide customers through organizational configuration, reporting structures, and platform setup to support successful adoption and long-term scalability.
  • Support technical discussions related to APIs, data flows, reporting, interoperability standards, and external system connectivity.
  • Lead technical responses for RFPs, RFIs, and security reviews, ensuring clear, accurate, and strategically positioned responses.
  • Clearly communicate technical risks, dependencies, tradeoffs, and recommended next steps to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Articulate CYPHER’s security and compliance posture, including GDPR, SOC 2, encryption standards, and enterprise security practices.
  • Develop reusable technical assets, solution documentation, and architectural diagrams to improve scalability and efficiency across the sales cycle.
  • Stay current on AI, automation, and agentic learning trends, helping customers understand practical applications for workforce enablement and learning transformation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
