Solutions Engineer, AI

About The Position

The AI Solutions Engineer partners with Sales, Product, and Engineering to design, prototype, and deliver agentic AI workflows for Private Markets clients. This role operates at the intersection of customer discovery, solution architecture, and rapid prototyping—translating ambiguous business problems into tangible AI-driven workflows that accelerate deal execution, underwriting, and portfolio monitoring. As a senior individual contributor, this role shapes late-stage deal strategy, establishes technical credibility with clients, and drives repeatable AI use case development that informs product direction and go-to-market execution.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguous, consultative environments, translating loosely defined business problems into structured technical solutions.
  • 6–12 years of relevant experience (Solutions Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, or technical consulting).
  • Exposure to Private Markets workflows (Private Equity, Private Credit, Investment Banking, or adjacent domains).
  • Proven capability to balance customer-facing communication with hands -on technical execution.
  • Ability to independently scope, design, and deliver prototypes that influence customer decisions and revenue outcomes.
  • Working to advanced proficiency with APIs, data workflows, and automation tools.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM-based applications.
  • Familiarity with system integration patterns and data pipelines (working level or higher).
  • Demonstrated experience building prototypes or customer-facing technical solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate complex AI concepts, tradeoffs, and limitations clearly to external clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

  • Own technical solution strategy for late-stage deals by translating ambiguous client needs into clearly defined agentic AI workflows tied to business outcomes (e.g., underwriting speed, diligence efficiency).
  • Lead consultative engagements with Private Equity and Credit stakeholders, framing high-value AI use cases and articulating ROI, feasibility, and tradeoffs.
  • Establish technical trust with clients by addressing concerns related to accuracy, hallucination risk, data lineage, and human-in-the-loop controls.
  • Translate client business processes into structured agentic workflows, clearly articulating how tasks, decisions, and data flows map to AI agents.
  • Design and build lightweight prototypes, demos, and POCs using LLMs, APIs, and workflow automation tools to validate solution feasibility and accelerate sales cycles.
  • Map complex financial workflows (e.g., credit memos, IC materials, diligence processes) into functional AI agents and automated pipelines.
  • Balance speed and rigor by delivering production-relevant prototypes within short timeframes (hours to days), not weeks.
  • Identify repeatable patterns across client engagements and translate custom solutions into scalable product features in partnership with Product and Engineering.
  • Provide structured feedback on emerging use cases, technical gaps, and customer needs to influence roadmap prioritization.
  • Contribute to the development of reusable demo assets, solution frameworks, and reference architectures.
  • Identify and scale high-value AI use cases that can be monetized across the broader client base.
  • Enable Account Executives and Account Managers to credibly position AI solutions by defining when and how to introduce agentic workflows into the sales process.
  • Educate internal and external stakeholders on practical AI capabilities versus market hype, setting realistic expectations grounded in technical constraints.
  • Act as a subject matter expert bridging business and technical domains across Private Markets use cases.
  • Engage in open-ended, consultative sales cycles where problem definitions precede solution design.
