About The Position

Tenet3 is hiring a Solutions Engineer Intern for Spring 2027. The intern will receive hands-on experience with Cameo, Tenet3’s MeTRA platform, and digital modeling, working with a cross-disciplinary team to build and maintain SysML models and support data integration and systems analysis for complex aerospace and defense systems. The role offers exposure to model-based systems engineering (MBSE), digital engineering workflows, and how digital models and platforms support defense acquisition.

The intern will assist with system modeling in Cameo Systems Modeler, use MeTRA for model integration and visualization, and learn Python to automate tasks, extract or validate model data, and connect Cameo with MeTRA. The position also includes documentation, version control and traceability practices, team standups, model reviews, demonstrations, and mentorship from Solutions Engineers.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a bachelor's program in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Math, or a related STEM field.
• Have a minimum GPA of 3.5.
• Have basic familiarity with Python through coursework, personal projects, or research.
• Have basic familiarity with the building blocks of cryptography through coursework, personal projects, or research.
• Have clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to ask questions, write documentation, and collaborate across teams.
• Be self-driven, curious, and eager to learn digital engineering workflows.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in learning MBSE tools such as MagicDraw/Cameo or similar.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creating, navigating, and maintaining detailed system models in Cameo and apply standard SysML practices.
• Draft, link, and maintain foundational SysML diagrams in the Cameo environment.
• Use Tenet3’s MeTRA platform to support systems analysis, digital engineering workflows, model integration, and data visualization.
• Learn and apply Python to automate modeling tasks, query or extract Cameo model data, validate model integrity, and facilitate data exchange between Cameo and MeTRA.
• Contribute to model annotations and create structured technical documentation and reports from Cameo and MeTRA models.
• Participate in team standups, model reviews, demonstrations, and retrospectives; seek feedback on modeling techniques.
• Learn how Cameo models, MeTRA artifacts, and digital data are tracked, merged, and structured using version control tools such as GitLab and Teamwork Cloud.
