Sr. Solutions Architect, WWPS EdTech
About The Position
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly motivated Solutions Architect to join their Education business within the World Wide Public Sector practice. This role involves working closely with Education Technology companies to help establish AWS as a leading technology platform. The Solutions Architect will own technical engagements, design architectures, develop deep expertise in AWS technologies, and serve as a subject matter expert on security. They will provide technical design and thought leadership to the EdTech markets, capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community, and collaborate with industry professionals. The team's mission is to enable EdTech ISVs by guiding them through their business and technology strategy and the use of AWS services.
Requirements
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- Experience in a technical role within a sales organization
- Technical presentation experience – White board, small and large group presentations
- Technical – Web Services development/deployment experience, cloud computing
- Operational – Web site/services operations, management, and security
- Ability to travel 30%
Nice To Haves
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
Responsibilities
- Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific projects.
- Defining and designing architectures.
- Developing deep expertise in AWS technologies and broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform.
- Being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.
- Providing exceptional technical design and thought leadership to the EdTech markets for cloud computing.
- Working with a world-class sales and business development team.
- Leading efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solution architect community.
- Learning from, collaborating with, and educating technical minds across enterprise architecture.
- Helping customers to design and create cloud computing architectures.
- Being a Strategic Advisor.
- Engaging in deep-dive technical discussions around design.
- Guiding EdTech companies and partners through their business & technology strategy and the use of AWS services.
