About The Position

We are looking for a Solutions Architect to lead requirements definition and solution design for our ERP and other custom development projects. You will be the bridge between business stakeholders and the development team, translating complex manufacturing & business workflows into structured, buildable specifications, and ensuring the technical solution stays aligned with operational reality throughout delivery. The initial 18-24 months for this role will be focused on ERP enhancement projects for one of our large manufacturing sites. This system integrates with numerous third-party services across production, procurement, and operations. Long-term the expectation is to continually enhance and evolve the platform’s capabilities and features. This is a hands-on role. You will own the requirements pipeline from stakeholder engagement through to signed-off documentation and provide architectural guidance to a C# / Angular development team delivering primarily backend-heavy distributed systems work.

Requirements

  • Strong requirements elicitation skills, comfortable running structured interviews and workshops with non-technical operational stakeholders.
  • Experience producing formal BRDs and functional specifications to a standard that development teams can build directly from.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems concepts and integration architecture (REST APIs, messaging, event-driven patterns).
  • Working knowledge of C# / .NET backend systems and Angular front-end architecture, sufficient to assess feasibility and communicate effectively with developers.
  • Ability to identify and document exception cases, edge cases, and process variants, not just happy-path requirements.
  • Strong written communication; able to produce documentation that is precise, consistent, and audience-appropriate.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 20%.
  • 7+ years of experience in solutions architecture, business analysis, or systems implementation
  • 3+ years in a manufacturing or industrial environment and hands-on involvement in ERP delivery
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, MIS, or a related field

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect is a plus
  • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead structured requirements elicitation sessions with site stakeholders including operations, production, procurement, and finance.
  • Produce clear, testable Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs) and Architectural Decision Records (ADR).
  • Identify and resolve ambiguity early, distinguishing between what stakeholders ask for and what they actually need.
  • Define and maintain acceptance criteria that development teams can build and test against.
  • Manage requirements traceability across the project lifecycle.
  • Own the functional architecture of the ERP solution, ensuring design decisions are grounded in manufacturing site constraints.
  • Define integration patterns between the ERP system and existing site infrastructure and third-party systems.
  • Collaborate with software engineering leadership on non-functional requirements including performance, resilience, and data integrity.
  • Review and validate technical designs against business requirements.
  • Identify architectural risks early and propose mitigations.
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Communicate solution design decisions clearly to site leadership, operations teams, and the development team.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for requirements-related queries during development.
  • Support the development team in interpreting requirements throughout the build phase.
  • Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and backlog refinement.
  • Contribute to testing strategy and UAT planning, ensuring acceptance criteria are properly validated.
