About The Position

TISTA Science and Technology is seeking a Solutions Architect to join its growing team and perform mission-driven work. The position is remote in the USA and focuses on architecture for large federal programs, including VA-related systems. The architect will develop current-state and target-state models, lead solution architecture planning, align designs with VA standards and hosting platforms, advise on integration and cloud migration, and support authorization and DevSecOps assessments. Candidates must be able to obtain a Tier 2 / Moderate Risk Public Trust and a VA PIV credential. The suggested pay range is $95,546 to $105,875; the actual offer depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and location, and certain positions may be eligible for bonuses.

Requirements

12+ years of experience, including 10+ years of enterprise or solution architecture on large federal programs; Expert / Level IV or well-qualified Senior / Level III.
Experience with DoDAF/UAF architecture models and solution architecture packages.
Cloud and integration architecture experience, including AWS, Azure, VAEC, FHIR, and ESB/API.
Bachelor's degree required.
Must be able to obtain a Tier 2 / Moderate Risk Public Trust and a VA PIV credential.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree preferred.
VA or federal health architecture experience; familiarity with VA TRM and Zero Trust strategy.
Experience with ATO and DevSecOps maturity assessments.
Data platform architecture experience, including Databricks and OpenShift.
Certified SAFe Architect.
Red Hat Certified Engineer in Cloud-Native Applications.
AWS or Azure Solutions Architect certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Build AS-IS and TO-BE architecture models in VA-prescribed DoDAF/UAF formats.
Own the SAFe Architectural Runway and each product's Solution Architecture Package.
Align designs to the VA Technical Reference Model, Zero Trust strategy, and VAEC/VA Platform One hosting.
Advise on FHIR, ESB/EAI, API, and VALIP integration patterns, and on cloud migration.
Support ATO decisions, DevSecOps maturity assessments, and decommissioning alternatives.
