About The Position

The Solutions Architect will be responsible for overseeing the Real Estate Secured Lending (RESL) domain needs end to end, create solutions that align with current requirements and strategically align to future state. In this role, you will drive RESL portfolio architecture, ensuring individual solutions align with the broader domain strategies. You will ensure architectural decisions balance business priorities, cost, scalability, resilience, and regulatory requirements. You will act as a trusted technical advisor to delivery teams, supporting solution design reviews and promoting architectural excellence. You will partner with Enterprise Architecture to facilitate architectural reviews and align with enterprise principles. You will prepare solution designs and estimate deliverables according to Scotiabank's policies, standards and templates based on business, project and systems specs. You will produce and maintain architectural and design documentations to support the technology and business needs. You will collaborate with development leads, software developers, business analysts and software architects to plan, design, develop, and maintain different applications. You will closely work with business partners to align on immediate needs and future state requirements. You will apply an innovative approach to developing process improvements and solutions. You will interact with stakeholders to collaborate, align and resolve issues. You will lead the team with a continuous improvement mindset, actively promote inclusivity and trust, and promote an environment of curiosity and experimentation. You will ensure all solutions adhere to enterprise architecture principles, regulatory requirements and industry best practices. You will act with urgency and criticality, evaluate problems, blockers and bottlenecks, identify actions to be taken, and assist the team to recommend/implement solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor (equivalent or higher) degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years architecture experience in creating and managing enterprise architectures and solutions.
  • Well-versed in contemporary engineering practices such as cloud computing, microservices, CI/CD, test automation, and DevOps.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex, highly available platforms serving customers.
  • Experience with structured Enterprise Architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise to cloud migration deployments and roadmaps.
  • Experience building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly distributed global based systems.
  • Experience in network infrastructure, security, data, or application development.
  • Knowledge of technology solutions and ability to learn and work with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space.
  • Outstanding communication, relationship management and problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled at balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution.
