About The Position

Trail of Bits is seeking a Solutions Architect to manage strategy for key accounts. This role involves staying connected with clients post-engagement, building follow-on programs, and translating findings into new work. The Solutions Architect will be a technical, client-facing position, comfortable in both boardroom and technical discussions. The ideal candidate is a former engineer with strong technical instincts and experience in commercial work, such as a technical account director or a consulting lead with a client portfolio. This is a new position that will evolve with the individual in the role.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in security consulting, security engineering, or a related technical delivery role.
  • 3+ years client-facing experience.
  • Ability to hold technical conversations with clients from staff engineers to boards.
  • Ability to design a program for the next twelve to eighteen months and defend the sequence.
  • Hands-on delivery experience in security assessments, architecture reviews, threat modeling, or remediation.
  • Experience translating ambiguous technical needs into scoped, priced engagements, including statements of work.
  • Credibility with engineers, with the judgment to work effectively with specialists and ask strong technical questions.
  • Commercial instinct to spot and shape expansion opportunities.
  • Clear technical writing skills for roadmaps, readouts, statements of work, and business review material.
  • Experience building with agentic tooling (skills, agents, automations) and ability to explain their function and impact.
  • AI-native in practice.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work at a security consultancy, audit firm, or professional services organization.
  • Depth in application security, blockchain, cryptography, AI/ML security, or systems and low-level research.
  • Experience owning technical business reviews or a named account portfolio.
  • Experience designing retained, programmatic, or outcome-based security engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical continuity of each named account, tracking changes, open items, and future considerations.
  • Join or lead technical office hours and working sessions to provide clients structured access to expertise.
  • Own the technical half of business reviews for strategic accounts, focusing on future security direction.
  • Build multi-year security roadmaps for named accounts to justify future phases of work.
  • Amplify the technical voice in account planning and portfolio strategy.
  • Identify clients using a single practice who could benefit from broader firm engagement and make the technical case.
  • Convert post-engagement needs into scoped work, including fix reviews, differential reviews, follow-ons, retained advisory, and multi-phase programs.
  • Design and price programmatic engagements that span practice areas.
  • Partner with Account Executives on expansion, ensuring the technical plan is sound and deliverable.
  • Take on deals outside established scopes, such as cross-practice engagements and multi-year programs.
  • Refine service offerings by translating engineering capabilities into client-facing services.
  • Iterate on agentic tooling used by the go-to-market team.

  • Competitive salary
