About The Position

At SCP Health, the Solutions Architect turns business needs into functional solution designs centered on Salesforce and accounts for interactions with QGenda, Workday, and integrations. The role works across Product Management, Engineering, Technical Architects, QA, security, compliance, and SOX stakeholders to keep designs aligned with platform standards and delivery needs. The architect analyzes system behavior and data, documents architecture and data flows, leads design and integration root-cause analysis, and presents design submissions to the Design Authority and EARB. The position stays engaged through implementation, supports backlog refinement and testing, manages cross-functional design dependencies and risks, and identifies opportunities to improve, automate, and simplify SCP’s platforms. AI assistants and agentic tools may be used to support analysis and documentation, with accountability for accuracy and design decisions.

  • Understanding of integration and data-flow design, including APIs, middleware, webhooks, and batch versus real-time patterns.
  • Ability to interpret integration outputs and findings to support root-cause analysis.
  • Proficiency with diagramming and design tools such as Lucidchart, Visio, or similar.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Practical experience using AI assistants to support analysis, story authoring, and documentation.

  • Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical spikes from product epics in partnership with Engineering.
  • Partner with Product Management to align requirements with architecture best practices and platform standards, and recommend alternatives to unnecessary customization, technical debt, or cross-system risk.
  • Evaluate design options and recommend a path while making cost, effort, scale, risk, and time-to-market trade-offs clear.
  • Ensure designs align across workstreams and with SCP’s platform direction and architecture standards.
  • Produce solution artifacts such as architecture and data-flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, process-to-system maps, and, where needed, wireframes or UI mockups.
  • Query systems and validate data to understand solution behavior.
  • Review integrations among Salesforce, QGenda, Workday, and MuleSoft with Engineering and Technical Architects to confirm design intent.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for design and integration issues and apply findings to future designs.
  • Document data mappings, source-of-truth decisions, and integration requirements; identify data and integration needs early in discovery.
  • Prepare complete design submissions and present them to the Design Authority and EARB; record key design decisions.
  • Apply platform standards for naming conventions, data models, access controls, and development practices.
  • Partner with security, compliance, and SOX stakeholders to meet control requirements.
  • Hand off designs to Senior Developers serving in the Technical Architect role, resolve feasibility and build constraints, and remain engaged through build to ensure implementation matches the design.
  • Approve design changes and provide Product Management with feasibility, effort, and dependency input for prioritization.
  • Participate in backlog refinement and ensure stories are ready to build from a design standpoint.
  • Work with QA to define design-level test scenarios, including integration and end-to-end flows.
  • Track design dependencies and risks across cross-functional initiatives and drive resolution of defects caused by design or integration issues.
  • Stay current on Salesforce, QGenda, and Workday releases and their impact on SCP solutions.
