About The Position

The Solutions Architect uses technology expertise to lead consultative discovery of clients’ and prospects’ business goals, objectives, and challenges, translating them into effective technology and services solutions. The role analyzes business requirements, presents solutions, and develops business cases and financial justifications. It requires deep communications and/or network industry experience in a sales-oriented technical solution design and architecture role, with emphasis on network architectures, IoT, Smart Office, managed services, and mobility solutions.

Requirements

• BS or BA in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of clients’ IT-related business goals and challenges, with the ability to translate client needs into technology solutions.
• 10+ years in a customer- or client-facing technical role, such as pre/post-sales, sales engineering, consulting, solutions architecture, or service delivery.
• Demonstrated and verifiable record of successful customer engagements; examples of solution designs, scopes of work, and/or technical project plans are required.
• Experience developing and implementing IT and/or managed services solutions with accountability for end-to-end delivery.
• Ability to present technical and nontechnical information to broad audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment and explain complex system solutions to customers.
• Effective written communication skills.
• Current and valid BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with ConnectWise PSA and/or CPQ.
• Experience with data center technologies.
• Experience with IoT endpoints, including computing devices, smart boards, climate control, digital signage, interactive kiosks, smart lighting, and analytics.
• Experience with network architecture, including routers, VPNs, firewalls, switches, WAN technologies and topologies, data center technologies, and wireless technologies.
• Experience with network assessment tools such as Netformx, Ekahau, AirMagnet, iBwave, and SolarWinds.
• Experience with managed services, including managed Wi-Fi, IaaS, and NaaS.
• Current and valid BICSI Data Center Design Consultant (DCDC), Cisco/Meraki, HP/Aruba, TOGAF, ITIL, and/or CompTIA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical design and architectural expert across the Granite solutions portfolio.
• Build and maintain relationships in assigned accounts to identify and cultivate additional opportunities.
• Develop technology solutions and strategies that resolve customer issues and achieve business goals and objectives.
• Serve as a deal architect for multifaceted, multitechnology solutions.
• Partner with company subject matter experts to build customer solutions.
• Develop and deliver technical presentations tailored to the audience.
• Author and deliver solution designs, scopes of work, and technical project plans incorporating service and program management activities.
• Understand the competitive landscape and articulate the technical differentiation and value proposition of Granite solutions.
• Achieve sales and profit goals through joint account planning, partner teaming, client visits, solution development, and implementation support and follow-up.
