Solutions Architect - Workday

ZipToronto, ON
Hybrid

About The Position

Zip is seeking a Solutions Architect to build the technical foundation for its ERP and integration ecosystem. This role involves internal technical enablement, architecting solutions for complex customer environments, collaborating with Product teams, and establishing best-in-class standards for Zip's integration workflows, with a particular emphasis on the Workday Financials ecosystem. As Zip expands its enterprise customer base, this role will be crucial in creating reusable integration assets and defining how the Zip product interacts with external systems.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience delivering integrations with Workday Financials.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of core Workday Financials business processes, data models, and the Foundation Data Model (FDM) layout, specifically within Core Financials, Procurement, and Supplier Accounts.
  • Familiarity with standard Workday integration methods and tools, such as Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, Web Services (WWS), and RaaS (Reports-as-a-Service).
  • Experience working with XML / REST based endpoints and standard authentication protocols.
  • Past ERP implementation, integration, configuration or administration experience is required.
  • Ability to translate highly technical information for audiences with varying degrees of technical knowledge.
  • Comfortable working with API documentation.
  • Comfortable testing and troubleshooting integration errors.
  • Able to understand customer requirements and document that information quickly, with little oversight.
  • A continual learner and open to learning new technologies that Zip may integrate with in the future.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Extreme attention to detail and pride yourself in being incredibly proactive.
  • Experience working with product and engineering teams.
  • Process-driven with a strong bias toward continuous improvement; you consistently look for opportunities to make systems better than you found them through systematic improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with iPaaS tools is preferred, but we welcome candidates with strong core integration logic who can learn new platform tools quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and iterate on Zip's core Workday Financials and Procurement integration templates to ensure scalable, repeatable, and robust customer implementations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) teams to align integration templates with core product architecture, field insights, and evolving customer needs.
  • Analyze complex customer implementations to identify reusable data mapping patterns and system nuances, converting bespoke solutions into standardized internal assets.
  • Partner with account teams during pre-sales to design and vet integration architectures for prospective customers.
  • Define, document, and champion technical solution consulting best practices to enhance technical standards and consistency across all implementations.
  • Leverage Workday, P2P, and financial systems expertise to build knowledge across additional ERP ecosystems, becoming a subject matter expert on integration architecture, data models, and Zip's App Studio.
  • Approach technical challenges with an engineering mindset, designing and executing solutions for permanent scalability and effortless future implementations, balancing high-level architectural design with hands-on API configuration and template modification.
