About The Position

The Codest is an international technology software company with technology hubs in Poland, delivering global IT solutions and projects. The company focuses on web development, cloud engineering, DevOps, and quality, and helps technology companies build impactful products and scale IT teams.

The Solution & Fullstack Engineer will join an innovative, AI-first engineering team working on solutions for a leading financial group in Japan. The team develops and evolves a banking application that serves as a cross-asset post-trade execution platform. The platform integrates with third-party trade matching and settlement services, processes large volumes of financial data, and provides features such as Trade Blotter and position reporting.

The role covers the full application stack, combining backend engineering in Python or Python and Java with frontend development using JavaScript and modern frameworks. The engineer will own end-to-end technical solutions, contribute to architecture decisions, and translate business requirements into scalable, efficient implementations. AI-powered development tools, coding assistants, and automation are incorporated into everyday workflows to improve development speed, code quality, and problem-solving. The role offers opportunities to influence technical decisions, explore emerging technologies, and build modern software solutions.

Requirements

• Advanced written and spoken English for collaboration with international clients and teams.
• At least 5 years of commercial software engineering experience, preferably in full-stack or backend-oriented roles.
• Strong commercial experience with Python.
• Practical experience with JavaScript and frontend development using modern frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.
• Solid understanding of full-stack application architecture, including frontend-backend integration, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
• Strong PostgreSQL experience, including database design, query optimization, indexes, views, functions, and triggers.
• Good knowledge of object-oriented programming, software design principles, and clean code practices.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar solutions.
• An AI-first mindset and openness to using AI tools, automation, and emerging technologies throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Ability to approach technical challenges with consideration for business requirements, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Experience with CI/CD processes, version control systems, and modern software development practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills, independence, and willingness to take ownership of technical solutions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience developing applications in banking, fintech, or financial services.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end full-stack solutions using Python or Python and Java on the backend and JavaScript on the frontend.
• Build and enhance responsive user interfaces and integrate them with backend services and APIs.
• Develop scalable backend services, APIs, and application components.
• Own technical solutions from requirements analysis and architecture design through implementation and deployment.
• Work with PostgreSQL to design and optimize database structures, queries, functions, triggers, and views.
• Use AI-powered development tools and AI-assisted coding practices to improve efficiency, code quality, and delivery speed.
• Explore opportunities to incorporate AI-driven automation and innovative solutions into engineering processes.
• Build rapid prototypes, validate technical concepts, and deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Participate in technical planning, solution design, testing, code reviews, and architectural discussions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional, international teams to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, automation, and technical optimization.
• Promote engineering best practices, clean code, maintainability, and modern software development standards.
