About The Position

The Sr Solution Architect will be responsible for daily operations, implementation, and multiple active projects related to data protection and server architecture. This role requires a strong understanding of PowerEdge solutions, backup technologies, and project management.

The position involves ensuring the smooth operation of Avamar and Data Domain systems, responding to customer requests, performing system upgrades, and collaborating with various teams and support vendors. The architect will also lead and contribute to significant projects such as capacity expansion, virtualization, and system refreshes.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in server architecture and design, with a focus on PowerEdge solutions
• Must be US Citizen
• Must have skills: PPDM, Avamar 19.8 & later, Data Domain 7.7 & later. DPA 19.4 & later

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of any of the following: Isilon, CloudIQ, Vcenter, NDMP ServiceNow, Office 365, Networking, FTP, and engaging support.
• Good to have scripting and familiar with UNIX & PowerShell commands.

Responsibilities

• Check and confirm all systems maintenance are running fine and take necessary action to resolve if any on all ten Avamar servers and eleven Data Domains.
• Monitor Daily backup failures (VM Snapshot, NAS, DB2, Oracle, file system backups).
• Handle restore requests as needed by customer.
• Create DPA reports for customer.
• Check LPR backups complete on both MDC/PSAC2.
• Manage Computer Crimes NAS backup, check current year is completing and manually manage backups for older years if necessary.
• Work with support for any hardware issues such as disk or memory failures and work with CE’s.
• Troubleshoot Elastic Cloud issues such as updating certificates, Disk replacements and reporting with support.
• Perform upgrades to Data Domain.
• Monitor CloudIQ for DPS and resolve open issues.
• Perform upgrades to Avamar & DPA.
• Attend meetings with Customer to go over any issues related to backup.
• Attend CAB (ServiceNow) meetings.
• Manage multiple active projects, including data protection capacity expansion, Avamar virtualization, and Data Domain refreshes.
• Design, deploy, and migrate data for Data Domain capacity expansion.
• Design and implement Avamar virtualization to reduce hardware, power, and maintenance costs.
• Design and implement the latest Data Domains (DD9900s) and migrate data for DPS MDC and PSAC2 refresh projects.
• Recall Data off PAQ ECS to PSAC2 Data Domain and migrate data to balance across Core DD.
• Work with customer server team, network team, application teams, and security team for various requests via ServiceNow.
