As a Solution Architect, you will be part of the Product Engineering Team. We are responsible for focusing on how we use our products, services, content and data to better support our consumers and business partners. As part of a collaborative team of architects, you'll partner with technical and business leaders across the organization to shape and drive strategic technical roadmaps, ensuring our systems are built to the highest standards and evolve alongside the ever-changing needs of the business. At CARFAX, we believe in the power of teamwork and value in-person interactions so that we can collaborate and thrive together. This position will require 3 days per week in our Centreville, VA office subject to change with future business needs.

Requirements

  • Excellent Leadership, Interpersonal, Communication, and Collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional Problem-solving and Conflict Resolution skills (technical & human).
  • Passion for Learning and Inspiring/Coaching others.
  • Creative, “Big Picture” Thinker.
  • Self-Starter with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Previous working experience with a broad range of AWS services.
  • Experience performing trade-off analysis to inform decision-making processes.
  • 8+ years of proven experience with software development and designing applications.
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with architecture to support SEO and Site Speed.
  • Experience with diverse architectural patterns and best practices.
  • Experience with AI/ML development and technologies.
  • Built large-scale, common applications or services that enrich multiple products.
  • Supported applications in multiple markets (i.e., Canada) and/or languages.
  • Experience with Customer Identity and Access Management platforms and patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with teams to design best fit solutions to business and technical challenges.
  • Providing experienced leadership and technical direction to software engineering teams.
  • Collaborating to define and maintain the standards that we hold for our systems and components.
  • Improving the discoverability of our systems through diagrams, documentation, and surfacing metadata.
  • Improving the efficiency of building and maintaining our components through automation and enablement.
  • Reviewing existing architectures to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.
  • Contributing to tutorials, presentations, and workshops to spread knowledge.
