About The Position

Balsam Brands, Inc. is seeking a Solution Architect to develop practical and workable digital solutions for internal business and technical teams. This role involves analyzing and evaluating business systems and user needs to craft scalable and adaptable solutions. The Solution Architect will collaborate closely with User Experience and Design, eCommerce, Growth, and Digital Technology Teams, acting as a domain and subject matter expert. The position requires analyzing business requirements and processes, applying solutions in line with these needs, and representing technical requirements and trade-offs in a business environment to facilitate decision-making. The role also includes building diagrams and workflows, creating work estimates, designing solutions for execution, and working independently and with a team on complex projects through multiple phases. The Solution Architect will serve as a subject matter expert and consultant on complex projects/initiatives, develop and improve technical requirements, monitor and report project progress to stakeholders, and build cross-functional relationships to align on common business/end-customer/release goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 60 months of relevant experience in solution architecture.
• Hands-on work with microservices.
• Hands-on work with API integrations.
• Hands-on work with enterprise eCommerce platforms.
• Experience working with various of architectural styles (e.g., SOA, event-driven, REST).
• Experience with secure communication protocols (e.g., SSL, HTTP, TCP/IP).

Responsibilities

• Develop practical and workable digital solutions for internal business and technical teams.
• Analyze and evaluate business systems and user needs to craft solutions that are scalable, adaptable.
• Work collaboratively with the User Experience and Design, eCommerce, Growth, and Digital Technology Teams.
• Work closely with business users and technical team, acting as the domain and subject matter expert.
• Analyze business requirements and process and apply solutions in line with business requirements and needs.
• Represent and communicate technical requirements and trade-offs in a business environment to facilitate effective decision making.
• Build diagrams and workflows to demonstrate steps and describe logical operational steps of the system.
• Create accurate work estimates and design solutions for execution.
• Work on complex projects independently and with a team during multiple phases of a project.
• Act as the subject matter expert who will act as a "consultant" on complex projects/initiatives.
• Develop, execute, and improve technical requirements.
• Monitor and report project progress to all stakeholders.
• Build relationships and work cross-functionally with teams to get alignment on common business/end-customer/release goals.
