About The Position

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Solutions Architect with expertise in the Power Platform to join their dynamic, collaborative environment dedicated to innovation and customer success. This role involves designing and guiding the implementation of enterprise Microsoft 365 solutions that support collaboration, automation, knowledge sharing, and service optimization. The Solutions Architect will provide architecture support across the M365 cloud platform, aligning technical capabilities with operational needs, evaluating new solutions, improving platform performance, and strengthening enterprise adoption of modern Microsoft technologies.

Requirements

  • Must be either a U.S. Citizen or have lawful permanent residence in the United States.
  • Must possess an active Microsoft certification such as Microsoft 365 Administrator (MS-102) or Identity and Access Administrator (SC-300).
  • Must be able to pass federal background investigation and obtain a Public Trust.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Microsoft 365 in a large corporate or government environment.
  • Expert-level experience administering Microsoft Power Platform, including environment management, tenant settings, DLP policies, licensing, governance, and operational support.
  • Expert-level experience developing enterprise solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse.
  • Strong experience securing Power Platform environments, including access controls, Dataverse security, connector governance, and secure deployment practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview, including information protection, retention, auditing, and other compliance capabilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 security and compliance tools, such as Conditional Access, Entra ID governance, data classification, and eDiscovery.
  • Strong technical foundation in .NET development technologies such as C#, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with the ability to apply that knowledge to architecture decisions.
  • Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation, solution deployment support, administrative standardization, and platform operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of Exchange Online, Intune, Azure AD, and the Azure ecosystem, including identity, integration, governance, and cloud solution design considerations.
  • Knowledge of M365 permissions, retention, and compliance settings, with experience supporting platform operations and environments leveraging AvePoint Online Services.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 development and SharePoint Administration, including customization of SharePoint lists and integration of disparate systems using Power Apps.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for multiple audiences and establish effective relationships with business units, leadership, and technical teams.
  • Must be able to present acceptable identification for customer badging and site access, such as a REAL ID compliant driver license, U.S. Passport, or other approved document from the GSA Required Identification List.

Responsibilities

  • Architect M365-based solutions that support enterprise collaboration, workflow automation, and scalable service delivery across the tenant.
  • Serve as the Power Platform Administrator, managing environments, tenant settings, licensing, governance, and overall platform health.
  • Provide expert-level Power Platform development support across Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse, including solution design, deployments, and reusable components.
  • Lead Power Platform security efforts, including access controls, DLP policies, connector governance, and secure solution deployments.
  • Partner with security and compliance teams to align Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365 security and data governance requirements.
  • Support Microsoft Purview and related Microsoft 365 security and compliance capabilities, including data governance, retention, auditing, and information protection.
  • Assess Dataverse environment performance and usage trends, recommending architectural improvements to data models, capacity utilization, and solution reliability.
  • Support troubleshooting of M365 incident and task tickets by providing technical guidance on complex issues affecting platform services and user-facing solutions.
  • Support OneDrive tenant and backup solution architecture, helping ensure services are configured to meet operational, continuity, and data retention requirements.
  • Contribute to SharePoint Online architecture and administration activities, aligning platform capabilities with business requirements and enterprise standards.
  • Lead or support proofs of concept and pilot efforts by evaluating technical fit, documenting findings, and recommending scalable implementation paths.
  • Develop or guide scripting approaches that improve automation, streamline administration, and enhance support for OneDrive and broader M365 capabilities.
  • Ensure architectural documentation, schedules, status inputs, risks, mitigations, and deliverables are maintained accurately and reported on time to program stakeholders.
