About The Position

The Infrastructure Solution Architect (Application Migration to Cloud) is a senior technical role responsible for defining, governing, and delivering enterprise-scale cloud migration architecture for critical business applications. This role leads complex modernization initiatives, shapes cloud migration strategy, and ensures solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and long-term business objectives. Operating as a trusted advisor, the Architect partners with application, development, security, and business leaders to drive modernization decisions, resolve complex architectural challenges, and ensure cloud solutions are resilient, scalable, cost-effective, and operationally sustainable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years in architecture roles.
  • Strong application and cloud background.
  • Leadership of large-scale migration programs.
  • Excellent communication and governance skills.
  • Deep understanding of core Azure Cloud Computing services.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and optimizing Azure resources.
  • Knowledge of hybrid connectivity, backup, disaster recovery, and security best practices.
  • Proficiency in cost management, monitoring, and reporting for cloud resources.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead architect for complex and high-impact application migration initiatives to cloud platforms (primarily Azure).
  • Define migration strategies (re-host, re-platform, re-factor, retire, retain).
  • Perform deep application and platform assessments.
  • Design and govern target-state cloud and hybrid architectures.
  • Provide architectural oversight across multiple initiatives.
  • Collaborate with application owners, development teams, infrastructure, security, and vendors.
  • Produce and maintain authoritative architecture artifacts.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
  • Drive optimization of performance, availability, security, resilience, and cost.
  • Contribute to cloud migration frameworks, landing zones, and standards.
  • Mentor solution architects and engineering teams.
  • Influence technology strategy and roadmaps.
  • Ensure solutions are designed to be AI ready and aligned to McCain’s enterprise AI platform, governance, and observability standards.
  • Partner with the AI Platform team to ensure workloads integrate with approved Copilot, agent, and AI service patterns.
  • Design with clear separation between systems of record and AI augmented experiences.
