Solution Architect - Applied AI Practice (Pre-Sales) (Remote)

Bryant Park ConsultingDenver, CO
$200,000 - $250,000Remote

About The Position

Bryant Park Consulting is establishing an Applied AI practice, an AI delivery division focused on designing, building, and operating AI agents within client systems. The company is seeking a Solution Architect to manage the entire sales cycle. This includes identifying and developing opportunities, leading discovery processes, scoping and sizing projects, and translating operational challenges into effective agent architectures. The Solution Architect will serve as the primary technical expert and trusted advisor from the initial contact through to the closing of a deal, regardless of the entry point (demo, workshop, assessment, or scoped build). This role reports to the VP of Sales, with a secondary reporting line to the Applied AI Practice Lead. As a key contributor to the practice's growth, the position includes sales and bookings targets with associated incentives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 4–7 years in a pre-sales, solution architecture, or technical consulting role with enterprise clients.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM-based applications, including model APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar), agent frameworks, prompt and context engineering, and tool/function calling.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration concepts such as APIs, middleware/iPaaS, and event-driven patterns, and how AI agents interface with systems of record.
  • Experience with enterprise business systems including ERP (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite), CRM, ITSM (ServiceNow), supply chain/WMS, or data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Proven ability to scope and estimate technical work and justify these estimates to clients.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging both technical and executive audiences.
  • Comfort operating in an early-stage practice environment, embracing ambiguity, working at speed, and contributing to playbook development.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or building production agent/connector integrations.
  • Background in the NetSuite ecosystem or ERP consulting.
  • Experience in a delivery role (having built what is sold) or a quota-carrying pre-sales role.
  • Familiarity with AI governance, security review processes, and enterprise observability tooling.
  • Vertical expertise in manufacturing, distribution, consumer goods, or food & beverage.

Responsibilities

  • Source and develop opportunities within existing BPC accounts, through partner channels, and via personal networks, leading the sales cycle from initial contact to signed engagement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with referral partners, including AI vendor sales teams (e.g., Anthropic), centers of influence, and other firms that refer business.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions with prospective clients to understand their systems, data, and operational workflows, identifying opportunities for agent automation.
  • Execute appropriate pre-sales strategies for each opportunity, such as demonstrating pre-built agents, conducting workshops, technical deep dives, or scoping proof-of-value engagements, tailored to the client's industry and buying stage.
  • Scope and size engagements by mapping potential agent initiatives to complexity levels, estimating work effort, and recommending engagement structures and retainer levels.
  • Design high-level agent architectures and solution blueprints, covering agent design, MCP connector strategies, system integration points, security and access models, and observability.
  • Collaborate with sales teams and Global Solution Architects to qualify opportunities and respond to RFPs.
  • Draft proposals and statements of work, including pricing, effort estimates, timelines, and phasing, and present them to client stakeholders, negotiating scope, pricing, and redlines until signature.
  • Translate technical concepts (agents, MCP, model selection, token economics) into clear language understandable by CFOs, CTOs, and operations leaders.
  • Address technical objections effectively, including build-vs-buy decisions, security and data access concerns, infrastructure and model choices, and the differences between production agents and common AI tools.
  • Upon deal closure, transition the vision to the delivery team, ensuring the successful mobilization of resources to execute the sold solution, and remain engaged as an engagement sponsor.
  • Develop long-term client relationships as a trusted advisor, identifying and positioning follow-on services as accounts grow.
  • Contribute to the development of demo assets, sales collateral, and reusable solution patterns to expand the practice's intellectual property library.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the AI agent landscape, including models, agent frameworks, the MCP ecosystem, and enterprise AI governance trends.
