About The Position

As a Solid Waste Intern with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), based in the Austin, Texas office, you will support office and field activities related primarily to solid waste landfills and transfer stations. Office work may include tabulating laboratory and field test data, compiling technical reports, and designing stormwater management and landfill gas collection systems. Field work may include Construction Quality Assurance (CQA), monitoring and documenting construction of landfill cells, caps, and gas collection systems, and using equipment to monitor landfill emissions. You will communicate with CEC office and field staff, clients, and contractors. Requirements

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
Experience with AutoCAD.
Must be legally authorized to work for CEC in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Support in-office and field activities for solid waste landfill and transfer station facilities.
Tabulate laboratory and field test data.
Compile technical reports.
Contribute to stormwater management system design.
Contribute to landfill gas collection system design.
Monitor and document construction of landfill cells, caps, and gas collection systems as part of CQA activities.
Use equipment to monitor landfill emissions.
Communicate with CEC office and field staff, clients, and contractors.
Participate in internship program activities, including collaboration with a mentor and workshops.
