About The Position

The mission of the Solid Waste Services Department is to provide exceptional service that is both economically and environmentally responsible and meets the needs of our citizens and exceeds all regulatory standards. The department is responsible for solid waste collection and disposal services, including residential, recycling, brush and bulky waste, and special waste collection. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year relevant experience
• At least six months recent experience driving any vehicle that requires a Class A or B commercial driver’s license (CDL) to operate
• Must currently possess a Class A or B CDL
• Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to communicate in English at a level necessary for successful job performance, such as in emergencies or other situations in which workers must speak a common language to promote safety

Responsibilities

• Collecting refuse, brush and debris
• Transporting refuse, brush and debris to the City landfill or approved Material Recycle Center
• Working outdoors under a variety of weather conditions
