About The Position
SMTC is hiring for a Solderer for their 1st shift, which runs from 7am to 3:30pm. The pay rate for this position is $21 - $23/hr. SMTC Corporation, founded in 1985, is a mid-size provider of end-to-end electronics manufacturing services (EMS). Their services include PCBA production, systems integration and comprehensive testing services, enclosure fabrication, as well as product design, sustaining engineering and supply chain management services. SMTC has facilities in the United States, Mexico, China and Canada, and their services cover the entire electronic product life cycle.
Requirements
- Ability to solder to IPC 610, Class 3
- Must have either the SMTC soldering class, J-STD-001, or pre-employment soldering test
- Requires IPC-7711/7721 certification
- Minimum 4 years in electronics industries involving repair and rework on printed circuit boards
- Experience in multitasking
- Attention to detail is a must
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma preferred
- Associate’s preferred in a technical field
Responsibilities
- Performing all tasks necessary to rework and repair PC Boards
- Complex rework such as removing and replacing IC’s, wire add, piggy back resistors, etc.
- Accessing company procedures and navigating shop floor controls
- Soldering to IPC 610, Class 3 standards
- Performing hand soldering by utilizing a microscope to remove, install, align and straighten parts
- Applying epoxy to PC Boards when applicable
- Removing solder from gold plate, preparing for relating and replacing
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Understanding schematic drawings and following procedures
