About The Position

Perform soldering tasks throughout the assembly process. This role involves performing soldering tasks on electronic assemblies as a member of a team under the direction of the production supervisor/lead. The individual must be capable of maintaining production rates and flows, functioning under time pressure, and getting along with co-workers. Responsibilities include following written instructions and manufacturing processes, contributing to a positive, healthy, and safe work environment, and working in compliance with Microboard, OSHA, and SDS safety policies. The ability to identify good and bad solder joints and accept change positively is also required. Component identification training and proficiency with Microboard MIS (Aegis) software are mandatory.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate ability to perform lap joints, butt joints, and through hole joints.
  • Demonstrate ability to attach solder cup and lug soldering for connector terminations.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform wire tinning.
  • Basic knowledge of solder theory.
  • Demonstrate ability to install and remove SMT or Through hole components.
  • Demonstrate a high level of quality consciousness, adherence to industry standards.
  • Solid understanding of basic solder theory.
  • Demonstrate the ability to install, remove, and repair all electronic packages.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use hot air rework equipment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform circuit board repairs such as barrel, pad, corner, or etch repairs.
  • Demonstrate an excellent understand of industry standards.
  • Provide leadership within the company relative to soldering techniques and quality.
  • Capable of training and supervising others.

Nice To Haves

  • IPC 610 Certification preferred.
  • J-STD-001 Certification preferred.
  • IPC 610 Certification preferred.
