About The Position

The Solderer II plays a critical role in the manufacturing and assembly process by expertly joining electronic components and wiring using various soldering techniques. This position requires precision and attention to detail to ensure the integrity and functionality of electronic assemblies. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings and specifications to accurately complete soldering tasks. They will contribute to maintaining high-quality standards and meeting production deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ultimately, the Solderer II ensures that all soldered connections meet or exceed industry and company quality requirements, supporting the overall reliability of the final product.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in manual and/or automated soldering in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols related to soldering and electronic assembly.
  • Certification in IPC-A-610, J-STD or equivalent soldering quality standards or the ability to obtain and maintain such certifications
  • Experience with surface mount technology (SMT) and through-hole soldering techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of electronics and component identification.
  • Previous experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment such as aerospace or medical devices.
  • Ability to use inspection tools such as microscopes and magnifiers effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual and automated soldering of electronic components on printed circuit boards (PCBs) following detailed work instructions and blueprints.
  • Inspect solder joints for quality and adherence to specifications using visual and microscopic examination techniques.
  • Maintain and calibrate soldering equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot and resolve soldering defects or process issues.
  • Document work performed and maintain accurate records of production and quality control activities.
