About The Position

EMS Solutions, located in Ogden, Utah, is seeking a Solder Technician to assemble, solder, and inspect electronic circuit boards using surface mount and through-hole techniques. This role helps ensure our products meet IPC standards, customer requirements, and high-quality manufacturing expectations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
IPC-A-610 certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification
J-STD-001 certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification
Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and technical documentation
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office or similar systems
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Dependable, punctual, and committed to following safety and quality standards

Nice To Haves

Previous electronics assembly or manufacturing experience preferred

Responsibilities

Solder surface mount and through-hole components using appropriate tools and techniques
Inspect component placement, polarity, and solder joints for quality and IPC compliance
Perform first article inspections and determine acceptance or rejection
Complete circuit board rework and repairs using solder wick, heat tools, and other equipment
Operate automated and manual soldering and inspection equipment
Maintain IPC workmanship standards, including Level 2 and/or Level 3 requirements
Follow ESD protocols, PPE requirements, and workplace safety procedures
Communicate quality or production issues with team members, leads, and engineering
Assist with training and mentoring other technicians as assigned
Work with production and engineering teams to address defects and improve processes
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area
Follow production documentation and written and verbal instructions
