About The Position

Cleanleaf is seeking a Solar Technician III to join our growing team! The Solar Technician III is one of the most experienced employees in the field, and they are responsible for leading and training any team members assigned to the team. This role is eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, demonstrating integrity, strong initiative, work ethic, as well as a focus on safety and quality of work on a continuous basis. Supervising, leading, and training any Solar Technician I or Solar Technician II team member assigned to work with the Solar Technician III. Performing Preventive Maintenance on solar and battery installations in accordance with Cleanleaf, customer, and OEM standards. Performing Corrective Maintenance on solar and battery installations in accordance with Cleanleaf, customer, and OEM standards, ensuring that the root cause has been identified and corrected. Ensuring that work being performed in the area meets or exceeds Cleanleaf O&M standards. Completing assigned tasks safely, correctly, and within the allotted time. Ensuring all PPE, tools, and equipment assigned to the employee are accounted for, maintained in good condition, repaired or replaced as required. Interfacing with SCADA/DAS systems to understand onsite issues with the ability to communicate to both management and customers. Correctly documenting all work in a Service Visit and Case within Cleanleaf’s CMMS. Correct documentation includes proper grammar and spelling, photography, thermal photography, and completion of checklists. Providing technical support for customer issues as requested. Performing other duties and responsibilities as may be determined by the Area Supervisor or Regional Manager. Safety is a core value at Cleanleaf, and the Solar Technician III must read, understand and sign all safety procedures, attend weekly safety meetings, receive, inspect, and maintain all required PPE, complete all required safety training, ensure every safety incident known to the employee is reported timely and accurately, and ensure every safety incident involving the employee is fully investigated, documented and corrective actions are implemented.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background and motor vehicle record check
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Ability to communicate in English, both oral and written
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based program navigation and CMMS systems
  • Proven experience understanding and implementing OSHA regulations
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand basic drawings and schematics
  • Knowledge and understanding of solar plant construction and comprehension of how onsite equipment interacts with the overall plan
  • Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot and repair SCADA/DAS systems which are used to monitor and report onsite performance
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform IV Curve tracing, determine if an issue exists and repair it
  • Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot and repair major solar plant components (e.g. central and string inverters, transformers, combiner and re-combiner boxes, switch gears, PV modules, etc.)
  • Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot and repair major battery storage components (e.g. central and string inverters, transformers, combiner and re-combiner boxes, switch gears, battery banks, etc.)
  • Complete courses and maintain advanced inverter certifications
  • Excitement about growing along with a fast-paced, dynamic company; comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to build, experiment, and iterate when the path forward is undefined

Responsibilities
