About The Position

The Site Surveyor is a customer-facing, field-based role responsible for conducting residential site surveys to support the design and installation of solar energy systems. This position plays a critical role in keeping projects moving by collecting accurate measurements, photos, and site information that our design and installation teams depend on. Site Surveyors spend most of their day traveling within an assigned territory and working on-site at customers' homes, independently managing their schedules to complete multiple time-sensitive appointments each day. This is an entry-level opportunity, and prior solar surveying experience is not required. SunPower provides training on the surveying process and required equipment. Successful candidates bring strong attention to detail, reliability, time-management skills, and comfort working with ladders and in attic environments. Occasional travel to other markets for one to two weeks at a time may be required to support business needs.

Requirements

  • No prior solar surveying experience required; training is provided
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working independently in the field
  • Strong self-scheduling, route-planning, and time-management skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with homeowners from diverse backgrounds
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
  • Smartphone with a working camera
  • Comfortable using a multi-position ladder and working in attics, including hot temperatures and confined spaces
  • Ability to safely operate all provided equipment in accordance with manufacturer weight and safety ratings
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and using hand tools
  • Willingness and ability to occasionally travel to other markets for one to two weeks at a time

Responsibilities

  • Conduct residential solar site assessments using a smartphone and company-provided surveying equipment
  • Capture clear and accurate measurements, photos, and site information required by design and installation teams
  • Complete each site survey accurately and upload all required information by established deadlines
  • Deliver a positive customer experience by clearly explaining the purpose of the site survey and answering basic homeowner questions
  • Activate solar systems following installation and collect customer feedback
  • Plan and manage daily routes to complete multiple appointments across an assigned territory
  • Arrive on time to scheduled appointments and communicate proactively if delays occur
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area inside and outside the customer's home
  • Follow all company appearance, conduct, and safety standards
  • Assist with permitting and inspections as needed
  • Safely use multi-position ladders, hand tools, and other company-provided equipment
  • Follow all company safety protocols and OSHA standards while working in residential environments
