About The Position

Energy Solutions is seeking a full-time Solar Associate, REC Contracts, to join our Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Team. The Solar Associate will execute and own a defined segment of program operations, supporting contract-related workflows that impact multiple applications simultaneously. This role processes large spreadsheet-based batches of applications, performing project extensions, project removals, and Schedule B updates on a rotating basis while ensuring data integrity, compliance, and adherence to established SOPs. You will operate within a highly collaborative, sequential workflow—receiving completed applications from preceding steps, executing your tasks with precision, and passing the torch to the next team member for review. While external communication is minimal, you will occasionally participate in client-facing meetings and reporting. The person filling this role will be required to work in a hybrid work environment reporting to one of our offices in Oakland, CA; Portland, OR; Chicago, IL and expected to be in the office a minimum of once a week.

Requirements

  • A high school degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in project management or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to answer stakeholder and program participant inquiries received over email or calls concisely, courteously, and professionally.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify issues and escalate when needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple tasks and deadlines and respond to internal communication from peers and managers promptly.

Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned program workflows (e.g., claim intake, completeness review, eligibility verification within guidelines) to support service levels and processing timelines.
  • Review, validate, and process applications and claims in accordance with program rules, eligibility criteria, and SOPs.
  • Escalate non-routine issues, complaints, or exceptions to the Project Manager as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, in alignment with program guidelines and compliance requirements, in program systems, databases, or CRMs.
  • Review work for accuracy and completeness before submission and flag issues to the Project Manager.
  • Execute data validation and quality assurance activities for assigned workflows using defined checklists and processes.
  • Track and report discrepancies to support consistency and reduce rework.
  • Apply and update established processes and documentation to support accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain detailed documentation to support audits, reporting, and program transparency.
