About The Position

This is an entry-level position for the Solar Pile fabrication facility. The incumbent will be responsible for painting finished product according to standards and general material handling. Will also perform general utility functions to assist operators, maintenance, and leadership as needed. This position is night shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic understanding of English, written and verbal
  • General math skills
  • Basic ability to use a computer, touch screens and scanning guns
  • Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing or walking, balance, bend, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, and push and pull objects.
  • Ability to reach, squat, and tolerate prolonged sitting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate hand controls with both hands and foot pedals with both feet.
  • Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching.
  • Ability to work in high ambient temperatures.
  • Ability to tolerate working in areas where noise levels can reach 120 decibels.
  • Ability to wear required PPE.
  • Must be legally eligible to immediately work in the country of hire without current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Painting finished product according to customer specifications using paint sprayers and/or brushes, including proper preparation of paint and equipment, and maintaining a clean paint area.
  • Ensuring product is tagged correctly for proper placement in the inventory yard after painting.
  • Assisting with inventory management by accurately identifying and counting bundles and validating material locations.
  • Operating overhead cranes and forklifts safely, including completing pre-use inspections.
  • Assisting forklift drivers with cutting banding or tags, scanning bundles, and handling dunnage.
  • Safely handling the movement of materials (crop cuts, dunnage, scrap, slugs, etc.) in production and outside work areas for efficient access and/or disposal, including emptying scrap buckets and restocking materials.
  • Performing quality checks (visual inspections for paint color, squareness, length, hole cuts, saw cuts, bar quality) to ensure customers receive prime material meeting specifications.
  • Refilling tags at the tagging robot and manually tagging product as needed.
  • Assisting team members with the rework process following established guidelines.
  • Following ISO standards and practices for zero defects, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining accurate production records.
  • Working overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on production goals.
  • Communicating effectively and professionally with team members, leadership, customers, and suppliers.
  • Following all PPE requirements and safety rules/guidelines, and immediately reporting any incidents or accidents.
  • Following all environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Maintaining work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition following 5S standards.
  • Assisting in training coworkers as needed.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.
