About The Position

The Solar Installation Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting residential solar systems while adhering to safety standards and ensuring high-quality workmanship. Ecohouse Solar is the original solar company in Central Ohio, committed to the highest level of service for customers and to using high quality solar materials on all installations. Ecohouse Solar is an IGS Energy company and is currently hiring people only in the Central Ohio area.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of solar installation experience (residential or commercial).
  • Strong understanding of solar PV systems and their components.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • Trustworthy, with a proven ability to manage responsibilities independently.
  • Effective team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality results.
  • Enphase and SolarEdge Certification
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights on rooftops or ladders.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • NABCEP certification or equivalent (a plus).
  • OASHA certifications a plus

Responsibilities

  • Install photovoltaic (PV) systems according to design specifications, manufacturer guidelines, and company standards.
  • Work closely with team members, including electricians, project managers, roof lead, and foreman to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Execute solo tasks, such as non-roof repairs or maintenance, with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability.
  • Identify and resolve system malfunctions, ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Follow OSHA safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others.
  • Perform inspections and testing to verify system performance and ensure all installations meet regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately document work completed, materials used, and system specifications for each project.
