About The Position

SunPower is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join its renewable energy team. The role contributes to installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar energy systems, helping ensure solar installations operate safely and efficiently and comply with industry standards and regulations. The electrician will lead electrical work connecting solar arrays to the grid and work cooperatively with crew members on residential solar installations. The position requires effective communication with crew members and the corporate office, knowledge of residential wiring, and the ability to work from ladders and at heights.

Requirements

Possess a national or state journeyman electrician license.
Have working knowledge of current NEC codes.
Have working knowledge and experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels.
Have experience with the hand and power tools required for the electrical trade.
Be able to read and interpret single-line drawings.
Be comfortable working from ladders and at heights.
Comply with OSHA standards.
Be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with crew members and the corporate office.

Nice To Haves

PV solar installation experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform work professionally and in accordance with existing national and local building codes.
Work cooperatively with team members to complete residential solar installations.
Diagnose and troubleshoot system components to resolve electrical issues.
Lead installation of electrical systems that interconnect solar arrays to the grid.
Ensure work is of good workmanship and complies with current NEC and local codes.
