Requirements

  • Experienced electrical professional with strong knowledge of electrical systems and construction.
  • Confident leader who can coach, motivate, and hold a crew accountable.
  • Strong problem solver who can make decisions when challenges arise in the field.
  • Knowledgeable about OSHA and construction-site safety.
  • Comfortable working independently while partnering with Field Operations leadership.
  • Willing to learn new products, technologies, and installation methods.
  • Equipped with the necessary electrical trade hand tools.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Pennsylvania electrical license
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel locally between job sites
  • Ability to work occasional overnight travel

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee solar installation crews.
  • Take ownership of job-site safety, organization, cleanliness, and completion.
  • Prepare, organize, and load materials for installations.
  • Manage electrical inventory in company trucks.
  • Install and troubleshoot active solar systems.
  • Install PV systems using drawings, schematics, and project instructions.
  • Install and work with AC/DC inverters, disconnects, combiners, AC tap boxes, and related equipment.
  • Check wiring, polarity, grounding, and electrical terminations.
  • Test DC/AC voltages and verify system functionality.
  • Activate and commission PV systems, including confirming Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity.
  • Determine appropriate equipment, disconnects, grounding, overcurrent protection, and surge protection.
  • Evaluate site conditions and help determine appropriate PV system configurations.
  • Communicate directly with homeowners and answer questions about their solar installation.
  • Coach and lead crew members.
  • Partner with the Manager of Field Operations to address performance and training needs.
  • Manage crew timesheets and make corrections when needed.
  • Demonstrate system start-up, shut-down, normal operation, and emergency/bypass procedures.
