Requirements

Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, architecture, trade or a related field
0-1 years of progressive experience as a drafter/designer is preferred
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D
Ability to learn and apply basic construction principles, specifications, and procedures.
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with stakeholders including supervisors and subtrade partners.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

Responsibilities

Reviews overall concept design, detailed layout, and DC electrical design.
Reviews overall substation concept design and works with substation and PV engineers to co-ordinate the flow of information and optimize design details.
Participates in estimates to secure new work including in renewable energy. Assist with performing concept designs for feasibility and tendering in pre-contract stages and detailed design in the execution phase.
Reviews and understands the contract and subcontracts, including understanding risk and risk mitigation plans.
Manage design development with external design consultants as well as the commissioning program.
Assist with updating drawings and specifications
Documents field records for quality, production, labor, and materials.
Assists with inventory and tracking time sheets, costs, and quantities.
Prepares quantity takeoffs.
Assists in monitoring the quality plan, including conducting quality inspections.
Conducts basic safety inspections and training, identifies and corrects safety hazards, and leads by example in safety practices and procedures.
Assists the project team with subtrade partner management, including managing requests for information, shop drawings, changes and billing and workforce planning.
Assists with schedules and monitoring performance.
Develops and maintains strong relationships with all stakeholders
