About The Position

An REPI Solar Commercial Senior Solar Project Manager with the help of an assistant project manager focuses on navigating regulatory frameworks, securing utility approvals, and building permits, and serving as the primary hub of communication between clients and the internal execution team. They ensure seamless project velocity from initial design through final grid interconnection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Communications, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years managing commercial solar deployment, with a heavy emphasis on, permitting, coordinating engineering drawings and client management.
  • Must be able to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced team environment managing many projects simultaneously.
  • In-depth knowledge of local AHJ building departments, permitting workflows, and utility interconnection standards.
  • Proven ability to influence and guide internal teams for project success.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills tailored for executive-level corporate clients.
  • Ability to advocate for the company and client when negotiating interconnection and permit approvals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the AHJ permitting process by submitting structural and electrical engineering plan sets to local jurisdictions.
  • Resolve zoning, Planning and environmental issues through direct coordination with city planners and municipal officials.
  • Manage utility interconnection tracks to secure Net Energy Metering (NEM) approvals and initial Interconnection Agreements.
  • Coordinate final inspection workflows with other team members and city inspectors, fire marshals, and utility engineers to achieve Permission to Operate (PTO).
  • Serve as the primary liaison for corporate clients, facility managers, and enterprise stakeholders.
  • Translate complex technical concepts regarding engineering, design changes, and construction impacts into clear business language.
  • Host client progress meetings to provide transparent milestone updates and manage expectations.
  • Coordinate facility access logistics to minimize disruptions to the client's daily business operations during installation.
  • Prepare and send AIA billing to Customer and or General contractor.
  • Host weekly meetings with other team members to strategize solving setbacks & problems in addition to regular progress updates.
  • Bridge communication gaps between sales, engineering, procurement, and field construction crews.
  • Drive internal design reviews with electrical and structural engineers to ensure plans meet both client constraints and code requirements.
  • Hand off finalized design packages to field superintendents and construction foremen for execution.
  • Facilitate regular alignment sessions with internal leadership to flag project bottlenecks, timeline shifts, or deployment risks.
